Raising the Bar: The Self-Proclaimed Best Finisher Medals of 2012!
Atlantic City, NJ - August 16, 2012. The Atlantic City Marathon is raising
the bar for marathon medals across the country! The 2012 Marathon Finisher
Medal, sized at four inches in height and width, features a working
lighthouse. The design, modeled after the historic Absecon Lighthouse and
famous Atlantic City Beach Patrol boats, comes equipped with an LED light.
These unique medals will be given to the finishers of the 54th running of
the Atlantic City Marathon on October 21, 2012.
In addition to raising the bar on marathon bling, the Race Series is
raising money for charitable organizations. Participants in the Atlantic
City April Fools Half Marathon raised $2,911 for charitable organizations
through a partnership with Crowdrise, an impact website created by actor
and philanthropist, Edward Norton, and designed to make fundraising easy
and fun. The official charities included the Atlantic City Rescue Mission,
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Team Miller Foundation, Hope for
Atlantic City and Parkinson’s Research. "Being a part of the half marathon
was a great experience and helped raise awareness for our organization. The
experience was also our biggest single fundraiser to date and will help us
continue our mission of changing lives and transforming communities in
Atlantic City," explained David Cohen, Executive Director of Hope for
Atlantic City.
The 2012 Atlantic City Marathon, Half Marathon and Shore Medical Center 5K
& 10K offer the Race Series an opportunity to raise additional money for
charitable organizations through this exciting partnership with Crowdrise
and local and national charitable organizations.
