       Runners: Get Ready to Lace Up for the 2012 Columbia Marathon

Columbia, SC - (November 15, 2010) - The Columbia Regional Sports Council 
is pleased to announce the long-awaited return of a marathon to the Capital 
City.  The 2012 marathon will be USATF Certified and a Boston Qualifier 
held Saturday, March 10. The race is being led by Race Director, Dan

The point-to-point marathon will start in Ballentine, crossing Lake Murray 
Dam, through Lexington, West Columbia and into downtown Columbia through 
The Vista and Five Points.  The finish line will be near the State House. 

A point-to-point half-marathon, kid's marathon, school challenge and 
corporate challenge will also be offered.  Registration information along 
with sponsors and charity information will be released as soon as it
