                Schools Could Win $1,000 for Supplies
  Through Community First Fox Cities Marathon Presented By Kimberly-Clark

Appleton, Wis. (May 23, 2011) - The Community First Fox Cities Marathon 
presented by Kimberly-Clark is giving Northeast Wisconsin schools an 
opportunity to get kids moving and the chance to earn funds for school 
supplies and equipment from School Specialty.  The 2011 School Specialty 
School Challenge is getting underway!

Schools will be ranked based on how many students participate in Marathon 
weekend events.  There are three categories based on enrollment:

-Small Schools (Fewer than 200 students)
-Medium Schools (201-399 students)
-Large Schools (More than 400 students)

The top three schools in each enrollment category will receive School 
Specialty gift certificates:
      First Place: $1,000 -- Second Place: $500 -- Third Place: $250

Students can participate in any weekend event.  The most popular events for 
families are the Guardian Kids Fun Run (ages 12 and under) on Friday, 
September 16, and the Time Warner Cable 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 
17.

Regular entry fees apply, but there is no cost to the school, and all 
participants receive a t-shirt, goodie bag, and medal.  If students are 
registered through their schools, they will get discounted rates for the 
Kids Fun Run and 5K through Wednesday, September 14.

All elementary, middle and high schools (public and parochial) in the Fox 
Cities and surrounding school districts are eligible to participate.

About 8,000 participants are expected during the 21st annual weekend of 
events, set for September 16-18, 2011:

-ThedaCare Orthopedics Plus Half Marathon
-Community First Fox Cities Marathon
-Orthopedic and Sports Institute Relay Marathon
