Grandma's Marathon Accepting Entry Form Requests
Registration for the Nation's 13th Largest Marathon Starts
the Third Week in January
Duluth, Minn. - The first step to getting registered for the 31st annual
Grandma's Marathon is to request an entry form. Runners looking to register
for the marathon, scheduled for June 16 at 7:30 a.m., should send a
self-addressed, stamped, #10 business-size envelope and a note requesting a
marathon entry form to:
Grandma's Marathon
P.O. Box 16234
Duluth, MN 55816
Entry forms for the 26.2-mile race, currently the 13th largest U.S.
marathon, are scheduled to be mailed on Jan. 18, and will also be available
to pick-up in person at the Registration Kick-off Event, also Jan. 18, at
Wells Fargo Bank in downtown Duluth. The race field, limited to 9,500
entrants, historically fills in just a few weeks, so runners hoping to
participate are urged to return their entry forms as soon as possible.
Grandma's Marathon's accompanying races, the 17th annual Garry Bjorklund
Half Marathon on June 16 at 6:30 a.m. and the 14th annual William A. Irvin
5K on June 15 at 6 p.m., offer shorter distance alternatives. To obtain an
entry form for either of these two events, runners should follow the same
instructions as those for the marathon, being sure to include a note
indicating for which race they are interested in obtaining an entry form.
In all, more than 17,000 runners and 50,000 race fans from around the world
are expected to participate in Grandma's Marathon weekend.
