Training for the 2008 races begins in late September with an expanded
training schedule and training locations anticipated.
"We're expecting a record number of participants for our sixth race," said
Gina Marchese Pharis, executive director. "We're encouraging as many people
as possible to sign up early to make sure they have a spot for Six in the
City. We will be limiting the field of race day participants this year and
anticipate reaching those limits in early February."
The 2007 event (held earlier this year) saw a 7% increase in participation
with more than 8,800 participants in the various training programs and
races according to Pharis.
"As always, we have many exciting things in store for 2008 and plan to step
it up a notch all across the board" said Pharis.
The Little Rock Marathon is also sponsored in part by the Little Rock
Convention & Visitors Bureau; Image one of Little Rock and the Bill Titus
Family.
