FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Only 1 Month to the Malibu International Marathon 2010
Edition: Are you ready for the "Run to Paradise"?
If you have not already registered for the Malibu International Full or
Half Marathon, it is your lucky day! The race is on November 14th, 2010 in
Malibu, California". and Registration is still open. We are expecting to
reach our maximum capacity before event weekend so don't delay. Known as
the "Run to Paradise," the race offers a beautiful course set between
mountain cliffs and views of the Pacific Ocean.
Beyond the scenic beauty, the Malibu International Marathon is proud to
host runners from around the globe to provide an authentic destination
marathon. Whether 13.1 or 26.2 miles is your goal, athletes are invited to
come spend the week in Malibu, California and enjoy a full schedule of
events as part of an unforgettable adventure. "So far we have registered
runners from Paris, Casablanca, Tokyo, and more" says one of the race
directors. That means there are no excuses to anyone stateside for
missing this race!
At 7:00 am on race day, the marathoners will be bused to the start and
begin their 26.2 mile journey at the Camarillo Airport. Pacing is the name
of the game as runners set off running on a slight downhill for 10 miles
through the Ventura county farmlands set up against the majestic Santa
Monica Mountains. After passing the Navy base at mile 10, runners approach
the halfway point by way of the "keyway to the coast," a rock passageway to
the Pacific. The remainder of the course, after picking up with the half
marathon start, flows south along the legendary Pacific Coast Highway with
breathtaking views of the ocean. A couple rolling hills challenge runners
before an epic finish at the famous Zuma Beach, where athletes are welcome
to run straight into the refreshing waves of the Pacific. Race finishers
will be offered complementary refreshment and beach towels to enjoy the
finish line expo and attractions while resting, feet in the ocean.
Event directors and sponsors are striving to make this an environmentally
friendly race. Sponsors for this marathon include ZICO Pure Coconut Water,
Event Catalyst, The Sound 100.3, KPCC Radio, and Lava Gel. Proceeds of this
running event will be going to charities including Christopher's Haven,
Malibu Green Machine, the Malibu Boys & Girls Club and other local
non-profits of California.
Registration is available online at www.malibumarathon.com. Current
registration prices for the event are $80 for the half marathon and $135
for the marathon. Malibu International Marathon is a Boston Qualifier.
