              Marathon Race Promotion Centre opens tomorrow

Athens (4 August 2004): The Marathon Race Promotion Centre will be 
officially opened tomorrow, Thursday 5 August at 21:00 in Marathon (83, 
Marathonos Ave) by Ioannis Spanudakis, Managing Director of the ATHENS 2004 
Organising Committee for the Olympic Games.

The renovation of the Museum, an initiative of the Organising Committee for 
the Olympic Games (Marketing Division and City Operations Department), was 
sponsored by ALPHA BANK, Grand National Sponsor and the Official Bank of 
the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games.

The Marathon Race Promotion Centre will house a permanent exhibition 
entitled “Olympic Marathons”, a donation by the Olympic Museum of Lausanne 
to the Municipality of Marathonas that consists of documentary texts and 
photographs of the Marathon Race.
