            Paul Statchuk Gets in the Books after Reaching His Goal 
                     at the 2012 Mississauga Marathon

Mississauga, Ontario – Paul Statchuk from Toronto, Ontario broke a Guinness 
World RecordsTM at the 2012 Mississauga Marathon by a shocking 44 minutes 
and 30 seconds with a final time of 3:45:30. On Sunday, May 6th, 2012 Paul 
stood at the start line located at City Centre Drive and Robert Speck 
Parkway like all other runners and walkers with one exception. Paul 
Statchuk was fully dressed for football at an attempt to break one of the 
Guinness World RecordsTM. One week later, Paul had received confirmation his 
attempt was a successful one, "People look at setting Guinness World 
RecordsTM as a major accomplishment – I look at it as a fun venture, and if 
I can help raise some funds for some worthy charities along the way, then 
everybody wins" says Paul when asked about his achievement.

Paul Statchuck is a 27 year old Software Sales Professional who has always 
been passionate and involved in sports such as golf, hockey, baseball, 
soccer, basketball and even squash. After wanting to get involved in an 
even more competitive sport, he decided to turn to running and completed 
his first Half Marathon in 2009, followed by his first Full Marathon 
exactly one year later. This Boston Qualifier then submitted an application 
to Guinness World RecordsTM five months before the 2012 Mississauga 
Marathon, received approval in February and accomplished his goal in May. 
He won't stop here though. Paul is going to continue to look for more 
Guinness World RecordsTM to break.
