SunTrust Bank to Retain Title Sponsorship of National Marathon
Special In- Store Promotion celebrates the continued commitment
to this premier sporting event
WASHINGTON, D.C. – SunTrust Banks, Inc., already in its second year as
title sponsor of the National Marathon, will sponsor the District's annual
springtime event for three more years taking the partnership to 2011. The
4th Annual SunTrust National Marathon & Half Marathon, scheduled for March
21, 2009, is produced by the Greater Washington Sports Alliance and is the
only marathon run entirely within the District of Columbia.
The National Marathon provides local SunTrust employees with the
opportunity to take part in race-related volunteer and team building
activities. SunTrust aims to encourage runners via water stations, course
motivation sections, and finish line festivities.

sign up for the 2009 marathon or half marathon and receive a $10 discount
off registration. This offer, which will run from February 1 to March 1,
gives participants a special opportunity to join a field of 8,000 runners
which will include Washington D.C. mayor Adrian Fenty.
