Oakland A's To Host Marathon Night
Lt. Luke Peterson will attempt to finish a marathon before end of game
Oakland, Calif. - The Oakland A's will host Marathon Night on September 16
as they take on the Detroit Tigers at the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum .
Participants in the 2011 Oakland Running Festival can receive $6 off Plaza
Outfield tickets to the game by visiting oaklandathletics.com/tickets and
using the coupon code MARATHON. 2011 participants can also receive reduced
price registrations to next year's Oakland Running Festival. In addition,
Lt. Luke Peterson will attempt to finish a marathon on a treadmill behind
the leftfield wall during the A's game on September 16.
Peterson, who currently serves as a Lieutenant in the US Coast Guard,
graduated from the Academy in 2003 and obtained his law degree from the
University of Washington in 2010. The COO of the Coast Guard Running Club,
Peterson has finished five marathons with a best time of 2:55:16.
The average time of an A's game is 2:53.
For every minute that Peterson finishes before the end of the A's game, the
Oakland Running Festival will discount registration by that much up to $20
for those in attendance.
The third annual Oakland Running Festival will take place on March 25, 2012
and features five races: full marathon, half-marathon, four-person team
relay, 5k and kids' fun run. The event has sold out each of the first two
years and has generated nearly $5 million for the local economy and close
to $500,000 for charity.

Individual game tickets are priced at $48 (MVP), $35 (Field Infield), $32

(Plaza Level), $18 (Plaza Outfield), $13 (Bleachers), $12 (Value Deck) and
$9 (Plaza Reserved). All 2011 Premium games are dynamically priced; prices
will vary.
Base ticket pricing for 2011 Premium Games are set at $55 (MVP), $42 (Plaza
Club), $40 (Field Infield), $40 (Lower Box), $32 (Plaza Infield), $30
(Field Level), $26 (Plaza Level), $20 (Plaza Outfield), $15 (Value Deck),
$15 (Bleachers) and $9 (Plaza Reserved).
