FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
2012 Philadelphia Marathon and Half Marathon Charity Bibs Available
Charity bibs expected to sell out quickly,
as New York City Marathon is cancelled.
PHILADELPHIA – (November 2, 2012) – The Philadelphia Marathon and Half
Marathon have been sold out for more than a month. While these races have
reached their capacity, limited slots for the Full and Half Marathon are
still available through one of the Philadelphia Marathon Official Charity
Partners.
The Philadelphia Marathon and Half Marathon will take place on Sunday,
November 18.
"We currently are directing anyone interested in taking part in the
Philadelphia Marathon to our charity spots, which are still available,"
said Melanie Johnson, Philadelphia Marathon Executive Director. "The
charity openings offer runners a great way to still get in the race, while
giving back to the community. Philadelphia Marathon organizers work with a
number of charities at the beginning of each year. We anticipate that the
charity bibs may sell out quickly, as runners who are training for the New
York City Marathon look for an alternate race."
To find a charity spot, runners should visit the Charity Partners page at
www.PhiladelphiaMarathon.com/charity-partners. Each charity has different
fund-raising commitments and requirements, and tax receipts often are
available from the charitable organization. Below is a list of the
charities with current openings:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation/Team Lemon
Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter
American Cancer Society
Back on My Feet Philadelphia

competitors in its 19-year history, reached its capacity nearly two months
before the event -- also a new record.
