Twin Cities In Motion And Partners Raise More Than
$270,000 in Charitable Contributions in 2009
Donations further youth initiatives and support healthier lifestyles
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (January 19, 2010) – Twin Cities In Motion (TCM), together
with its community partners, and training teams, raised $270,341.20 in
2009, the organization announced today. Through entry fundraisers,
individual donations, and contributors to the Friends of the Marathon
program, which focuses its resources toward creating healthy youth through
running events, Twin Cities In Motion (formerly Twin Cities Marathon, Inc.)
exceeded its annual contribution goals.
"Our organization's goal to help build and support resources to combat
childhood obesity and create healthy lifestyles, continues to further our
shared missions," said TCM executive director Virginia Brophy Achman. "We
are fortunate to have foundations in this community, like Medtronic, who
match contributions, and individual donors who share the goal to give
others a chance at a healthier lifestyle. The money raised in 2009 is a
testament to that commitment."
TCM community partners include Bolder Options, YWCA of Minneapolis and
Migizi Communications. Recognized training teams include Team In Training,
American Cancer Society, Twin Cities Rise and American Liver. TCM also
supports Team USA Minnesota, a local training center that develops
post-collegiate American distance runners and future Olympians. To learn

The fundraiser entry program gives community partners the opportunity to
raise dollars on top of the cost of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and
Medtronic TC 10 Mile entry fees.
