MEDTRONIC TWIN CITIES MARATHON NEARS 75% CAPACITY IN LESS THAN
SIX DAYS
Spots continue to fill at steady pace via online registration at
mtcmarathon.org
MINNEAPOLIS – May 9, 2007 – Registration for the 2007 Medtronic Twin Cities
Marathon continues to out-pace daily inventories over past years, bringing
total numbers near the 75% mark. As of 8:00 a.m. May 9, registration
continued to draw participants from around the world.
Those already registered include participants from all 50 states in the
United States, the military, Puerto Rico, 6 Canadian provinces, Australia,
Bahamas, Belgium, Costa Rica, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico,
Switzerland, and United Kingdom. Capacity for the October 7th race is
10,500 participants.
"We're pleased with the tremendous response from the running community who
continue to choose our race as their fall marathon because of the great
spectators, the beautiful course and a well-organized event," said Twin
Cities Marathon executive director Virginia Brophy Achman. The race has
filled for the past 20 years, and during its 25th anniversary year last
year, filled in 15 days. Notification will go out to participants and those
interested electronically when the race reaches capacity. For more
