MEDTRONIC TWIN CITIES MARATHON FIELD FILLS IN 19 DAYS
Late Entry Fundraiser Program Offers 150 Additional Entries

MINNEAPOLIS – May 22, 2007 – Registration closed today for the 26th Running
of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon, with participants coming from all 50
states, seven provinces of Canada and 13 other countries.

Registration for the event continued at a swift pace throughout the 19 days
it remained open. "Strong registration online indicates the continued
growth in running as a sport around the world," said Twin Cities Marathon,
Inc. executive director, Virginia Brophy Achman. "We anticipated filling
the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon within a month as we've done for 20
years, but are thrilled that the event continues to attract such a varied
field in such a short time," said Brophy Achman.

Those still wishing to take part in the race can reserve their spot at the
start line through the online only Fundraiser Entry Program
benefiting Youth Fitness Partners of the marathon. These organizations
include: Bolder Options, Girls on the Run Hennepin County, Migizi
Communications, YWCA of Minneapolis.

There are 150 additional marathon entries available to support these
partners. Interested participants can download a Fundraiser Entry Program
form from the marathon website at www.mtcmarathon.org beginning Thursday,
May 24 at 10:00 a.m. For the $85 price of registration, plus a $100
tax-deductible donation, the first 150 entries received will still gain
entry to the 26th running of The Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America™.

Due to the growing increase in childhood obesity and related medical
conditions, Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. is focusing its fundraising and

partners focus on their mission to benefit youth in the Twin Cities area.
