        TWIN CITIES MARATHON, INC. DONATED NEARLY $155,000 
                IN CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS IN 2007
                 2008 Community Partners announced

(Minneapolis, MN) –Furthering its mission to promote health and fitness to 
residents of Minnesota, Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. (TCM, Inc.) gave 
$154,788 to youth fitness organizations and charitable partners in 2007.  

Cash donations included $34,729 from the organization's annual fundraisers, 
including the marathon and ten-mile entry fundraiser programs and Friends 
of the Marathon program.  The Medtronic Foundation matched those donations, 
contributing more than $40,729.

"Our commitment to the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon extends far beyond 
the excitement of race weekend," said David Etzwiler, vice president of 
community affairs and executive director of the Medtronic Foundation.  "We 
share similar values and a strong commitment to make this community a 
better, healthier place to live, especially as we partner on outreach 
efforts that promote exercise and healthy lifestyles among children."

Funds from the fiscal campaign were distributed to Twin Cities Marathon, 
Inc. 2007 Community Partners Bolder Options, Girls on the Run, MIGIZI 
Communications and YWCA of Minneapolis and to the Emergency Food Shelf 
Network and the Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. college scholarship program.  
The organization's 2008 Community Partners were recently announced and 
include Bolder Options, YWCA of Minneapolis and MIGIZI Communications. 

"MIGIZI Communications is pleased to be entering our third year as a 
Community partner along with Twin Cities Marathon, Inc.," said Graham 
Hartley, director of programs of MIGIZI Communications.  "We have seen 
American Indian families interest in the events more than double in our 
first two years of partnership and are excited about continuing to grow 
knowledge, interest and participation in fitness activities that lead to 
healthy lifestyle choices in the coming year."

In-kind donations included the contribution of unused shirts, valuing 
$19,500, to Hand-in-Hand Together, a non-profit organization dedicated to 
providing humanitarian aid to people of the Former Soviet Union, and food, 
water and cups to the Emergency Food Shelf Network, valued at $59,830, 
according to Virginia Brophy Achman, executive director of Twin Cities 
Marathon, Inc.

"Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. is proud to be a non-profit organization that 
raises awareness for other community non-profits," said Achman. "Together 
we are building bridges by reaching out to the community and touching 
people's lives."

The organization's partners also assist with efforts focused specifically 
on getting kids healthy and fit.  Medtronic Foundation additionally 
supports the kids events scholarship program.  And, in addition, Caribou, 
Kohl's, and Piper Jaffray also contributed to the kids scholarship program 
in 2007.
