St. Paul - (October 3, 2010) Sergio Reyes from Palmdale, California took
home the 2010 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon crown today as he ran one of
his best races with a time of 2:14:02.
"It's obviously my biggest win yet," said Reyes. "I'm still green and have
a long way to go, but it is exciting."
Reyes was trailed by Jeffrey Eggleston, 2:14:09 and Fernando Cabada,
2:15:25.
In the women's race, Buzunesh Deba of Ethiopia set a personal record today

also won Grandma's Marathon in Duluth with a time of 2:31:35 and so has had
very good success on Minnesota ground.
USA Masters Men's Champion Mbarak Hussein, 45 of Albuquerque, New Mexico,
reclaimed his master's title he won in 2006 with a time of 2:16:58. Hussein
commented," I was happy with my time. I haven't run [a marathon] in three
years so the time was impressive." Carl Rundell won second place in 2:26:58
and Matt Sandercock finished third with 2:27:23.
For the women, Susan Loken from Phoenix, Arizona won the USA Masters
Women's Championship in 2:44:43, her fourth USA Masters title. Tamara Karrh

resident, won his first Twin Cities Marathon in 1996. "I've been racing
for so long and now I split my training [between events]," he said. "It's
great to be back and I hope to come back again next year." He still holds
the course record of 1:35:03. Adam Bleakney finished second with 1:42:07
and Aaron Pike took third with 1:44:06.

performances across the board, including Mbarak Hussein and Susan Loken,
who have returned to the Twin Cities to reclaim their masters titles," said
Virginia Brophy Achman, Executive Director for Twin Cities In Motion. "The
emergence of Sergio Reyes and other top performers are only the beginning
of the performances we will see as we look toward next year's world
championships and the 2012 games."
