Run Like a Mother Authors to Headline Health & Fitness Expo
Free Event Offers Features for Runners and Non-Runners Alike
Sarah Bowen Shea and Dimity McDowell, the authors of the popular Run Like a
Mother and Train Like a Mother books, are the headline presenters at next
week's Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Health & Fitness Expo at Saint Paul
RiverCentre on October 5 & 6.
The free event features more than 100 exhibitors offering the latest
running and fitness information, advice and products; the athlete news
conference highlighting professional athletes and inspirational "Faces in
the Crowd" participants, plus three speakers from the Mayo Clinic and a
panel of professional distance runners representing Team USA Minnesota.
The expo will also offer Hands Only CPR instruction from the Minnesota
Resuscitation Consortium as part of TCM's effort to educate the community
about the importance and ease of bystander CPR.
Bowen Shea and McDowell, whose books have resonated with the thousands of
women – and men – who make running an important part of their busy lives,
have titled their presentation, How to Maximize Race Day Performance and
Enjoyment. Between them, they are veterans of 10 marathons and more than
30 half-marathons.
The Health & Fitness Expo at Saint Paul RiverCentre is an exciting part of
a full weekend of running and fitness activity in Minneapolis and St. Paul
centered on the 31st running of the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. Even
non-runners can enjoy the event, however, which includes free coffee from
Caribou Coffee; free food sampling from Thousand Hills Cattle Co., Whole
Foods Market and Erbert & Gerbert's; and the sale of official Medtronic
Twin Cities Marathon apparel.
The Health & Fitness Expo opens Friday, October 5 at noon and runs until
8:00 p.m. that evening. On Saturday, October 6, the Expo is open from
10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. A complete listing of expo presenters can be found
here. Find a complete listing of expo exhibitors here.
