               Professionals and "Faces in the Crowd" Slated for 
                          Tomorrow's News Conference

         Equalizer Head-Start to be Announced at Health & Fitness Expo

Professional athletes competing in the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and 
Medtronic TC 10 Mile plus a panel of "Faces in the Crowd" runners – 
recreational runners with interesting and inspiring stories – will appear 
at tomorrow's Athlete News Conference held in conjunction with the Health 
and Fitness Expo at Saint Paul RiverCentre.

The news conference begins at 12:30 p.m.  Athletes competing in the USA 10 
Mile Championships, held in conjunction with the Medtronic TC 10 Mile, kick 
off the program, followed by professional marathoners and USA Masters 
Championship competitors, and the Faces in the Crowd athletes.

At the news conference, Twin Cities In Motion Executive Director Virginia 
Brophy Achman will announce the length of the head-start given to the USA 
10 Mile Championship women's field who are competing against the men for a 
$10,000 Equalizer Bonus which goes to the first USA Champion – male or 
female – to cross the finish line.

Among the athletes scheduled to appear are U.S. Olympians Kara Goucher, 
Janet Bawcom, Julie Culley, and Abdi Abdirahman, defending USA Masters 
Marathon champion Tracy Lokken, and 2012 Grandma's Marathon champion 
Everlyne Lagat.
