Krupicka, Semick dominate fields to win USA 50 Mile Trail Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - Anton Krupicka (Colorado Springs, Colo.) dominated the men's 
field on his way to defending his title at the USA 50 Mile Trail 
Championships Saturday at the White River 50 Mile Run held in Crystal 
Mountain, Wash.  Krupicka's winning time of 6:32:09 set a new course record 
by 34 seconds.  IAU World Champion Kami Semick (Bend, Ore.) easily won the 
women's race in 7:57:35.

2009 USA 50 km champion Michael Wardian (Arlington, Va.) finished second in 
6:51:50, as Greg Crowther (Seattle, Wash.), took third in 7:02:03.

The women's race saw Prudence L'Heureux (Tahoe City, Calif.) take second in 
8:19:53 and Ellen Parker (Seattle, Wash.) rounded out the top-three in 
8:48:56.  

The race also served as the masters championship with William Emerson 
(Portland, Ore.) winning in 7:19:43, while Semick also won the women's 
master's division.

This is the 9th year that the White River 50 Mile has served as the USA 50 
Mile Trail Championships.
