Keybank Vermont City Marathon & Relay Partners with
New Church Street Resident, City Sports
Burlington, VT (May 4, 2012)–KeyBank Vermont City Marathon & Relay and
City Sports are pleased to announce City Sports' sponsorship of the 2012
marathon event. City Sports, a specialty athletic retailer based in Boston,
will open its first Vermont location at 35 Church Street on Saturday, May
5.
Through the collaboration, City Sports will receive logo placement on race
marketing materials, including runner bags and on-site activation
opportunities to engage with runners and spectators at the Memorial Day
weekend event.
"Runners have always been – and continue to be – a core focus of City
Sports, so we could not think of a better way to kick off our Burlington
residency than by partnering with the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon," said
City Sports President and CEO Jeff Connor. "As one of the marquee events of
the year, the marathon allows us a unique opportunity to support local
athletes and the Burlington community through our sponsorship."

The grand opening event will take place on Sunday, May 6 from 10 am to 2 pm
and include a DJ, plus over $1,000 in giveaways, including City Sports gift
cards and merchandise and tickets to the Lake Monsters. City Sports will
award the first 100 customers with a City Sports gift bag. Additionally,
for every transaction made Saturday, May 5th through Sunday, May 13th, City
Sports will donate $1.00 to the Burlington YMCA. Representatives from
RunVermont, the organization responsible for the Marathon, will be present
and participating in the giveaways.
The 24th annual KeyBank Vermont City Marathon & Marathon Relays will begin
at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2012. Over 8,000 runners and 30,000
spectators are expected to participate in the event. Relay runners
participate in two-person or three-to-five person teams and compete
alongside marathon participants. Post-race festivities begin in Waterfront
Park at 10:00 a.m.
