COLLECTIVE SOUL SET TO ROCK TEMPE BEACH PARK
Headliner announced for P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon
                    & ½ Marathon post-race concert

TEMPE, Ariz. (Nov. 28, 2005) – The stage is set for Collective Soul to rock
Tempe Beach Park for the post- race concert following the third annual P.F.
Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & ½ Marathon on Jan. 15, 2006.
Collective Soul’s headlining performance is open to the public and will cap
off an extended weekend of festivities surrounding one of the nation’s
largest running events with more than 100,000 participants and spectators.

Collective Soul’s melodic style of hard driving rock has been revving up
audiences since the band exploded in the 1990s. With eight No. 1 rock hits
and worldwide record sales in excess of $7 million, the band continues to
rock concert audiences with a strong lead guitar, relentless bass, and
soulful vocals.

The Tempe Beach Park audience can look forward to a performance built on
the foundation of chart-topping songs like "Gel," one of seven songs to go
to #1 on the Billboard Rock Tracks charts, the omnipresent upbeat number
"Shine," the soaring ballad "The World I Know," "Blame," "December," and
"Precious Declaration." In addition, the audience will also be treated to
new songs from the band’s latest album Youth (2005).

Lead vocalist Ed Roland described this album as "a mixture of Dosage and
the first CD, really poppy tunes and fun production," and guitarist Dean
Roland said, "I want people to feel the good energy, the good place that we
are in. I think that a lot of these songs represent that."

Collective Soul’s "good energy" is exactly what Race Director Tim Murphy
wants for the P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & ½ Marathon
post-race celebration.

"It is one of the most important elements that has made this event a
success and it’s with that positive feeling that we want the weekend’s
festivities to culminate," Murphy said. "We are very happy to have
Collective Soul headline the post-race concert."

P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona participants and race volunteers receive
free entry to the Collective Soul concert. Concert fans not running
the race may purchase tickets for the show through Ticketmaster
at www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 480-784-4444.

This year’s race falls on a three-day holiday weekend, and kicks off with a
free two-day "Health & Fitness Expo" presented by FOX 10 / UPN 45,
featuring more than 180 exhibitors. The race itself boasts great winter
running weather, music from over 60 live bands and thousands of local high
school cheerleaders providing encouragement along the route.
