It was an interesting men's race - slow, but interesting. Anyone could have won, including Jared Nyamboki(?) - we think... But, at the end it was Robert K. Cheruiyot proving once again that he is the master of the marathon. The Men's Race

We were there, we were watching, we were thinking. These are our thoughts and commentary as the race was taking place. Did we know what we were talking about? Can one predict things as a race is in progress? What was it like to watch this race...

Live RaceDay Coverage
In what might be the worst weather day in the history of the Boston Marathon, runners will be battling a 30 mile per hour headwind and rain for the entire 26.2 mile course. We'll expect a conservative race and tight pack for most of the race... but who knows... The weather means that traditional strategies may not work and the favorites might not have the advantage we might expect. What will happen - we can't wait to find out...

 Boston Marathon Interactive Pace Calculator
Some will run the Boston Marathon with an even pace, but many will adjust their mile splits for the up and down hills - whether or not they plan to. The interactive Pace Calculator provides split points and times based on even pace or pace adjusted for the hills. It also provides time of day information so spectators can find and watch their favorite runner on the course.

 The Boston Marathon Course
One intrepid marathoner ran the 2006 Boston Marathon - with camera and digital recorder in hand. The result: over 200 photographis and a dozen interviews chronicling the Boston Marathon experience. We didn't quite get this up in time after the 2006 Marathon and are finishing this off... Look for the course - as seen while running a 2:48 marathon - coming as soon as we can (given a hectic schedule here in Boston, we'll try to get this up as soon as we can).
 Video Features
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then how much is a video worth? In this section, we've ferreted video footage that will help you prepare for the 2007 Boston Marathon: athlete interviews, recaps of past races, inspirational stories, historical footage, even a course tour...

     Read All About It...
The Boston Marathon is, arguably, the most storied of all marathons. We know that phrase doesn't mean there have been a lot of books written about Boston, but there have been. Here is a selection of currently available books - for adults, children, even some works of fiction....

     What Others Are Writing...
We wish we had a bigger staff. We wish we could write all of the articles we'd like to write (and there are a lot of them). Fortunately, others are writing about the Boston Marathon - present and past. Here are links to Press Releases and News Articles - not written by us, but at least we've found these for you...

     Past Years...
MarathonGuide.com launched in March 2000 and each year since 2001 we've been at the Boston Marathon covering the event. With so many athletes returning each year, past races often provide insights into the current year's events and personalities. At what mile do the runners typically make their moves? Which runners have been successful with an early breakaway and which have failed? The answers to these and many other questions can be found in the past years' races.
