             Largest RRAM Health and Fitness Expo Yet to Offer 
                  Variety of Goods and Services to Public
       Marathon legends Bill Rodgers and Kathrine Switzer to speak

AKRON, Ohio (Sept. 27, 2007) – The University of Akron Health and Fitness 
Expo presented by First Energy, taking place on Friday, Sept. 28 from 11:00 
a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the John S. Knight Center, provides the public with an 
opportunity to do everything from registering for the Road Runner Akron 
Marathon, to watching local mascots compete in a race, to meeting running 
legends, to checking out a new car. 

The Expo, which features exhibitors' booths from a variety of 
organizations, is free and open to the public. The event is the last chance 
to register for the marathon, new half marathon, two-person marathon relay 
or five-person marathon relay that will wind through the streets of Akron 
on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7:00 a.m. All runners must attend the expo to pick 
up their race packet, bibs, timing chips and other necessary information. A 
large variety of Road Runner Akron Marathon licensed Brooks apparel and 
shoes will be on sale at the Expo.

"This is the best running gear sale of the year," said marketing director 
Anne Bitong. "Anyone who wears running shoes and work-out gear will find 
wonderful merchandise from multiple vendors at the lowest prices possible."

Expo attendees will also have the opportunity to "ask the doc" 
sports-specific questions.  Nilesh Shah, M.D. of Summa Center for Sports 
Health will be available from noon to 2:00 p.m. to speak with attendees. 
Marathon legend, Bill Rodgers, will be signing autographs at the Expo from 
1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  Rodgers is a four-time Boston Marathon and New York 
Marathon winner. 

Also presenting at the expo is Kathrine Switzer, who is best known as the 
woman who challenged the all-male tradition of the Boston Marathon and 
became the first woman to officially enter and run the event. The Emmy 
Award-Winning commentator has promoted women's running events worldwide and 
was a driving force behind the inclusion of the women's marathon in the 
Olympic Games. Switzer, author of three books including Marathon Woman, 
will be speaking from 11:30 a.m. to1:30 p.m. and signing autographs.

The Health and Fitness Expo will feature over 80 booths, including 
University of Akron Department of Athletics; Second Sole; Ohio College of 
Massotherapy; Brooks Sports; Coca-Cola; Akron Zoo; Rock Star; Saturn; Besso 
Clinic of Chiropractic, Inc. with chair massages; Sheetz; Dave Towell 
Cadillac Saab; Kentucky Derby Festival; National Running Center; The Road 
Runner Akron Marathon merchandise store; and many more. 

The Expo will also feature a Kids Area that offers kids' activities and 
crafts throughout the day.  Kids may register for the 1K Kids Fun Run that 
begins at the Spaghetti Warehouse parking lot Saturday, Sept. 29 at 9:00 
a.m.

The fan-favorite 3rd Annual Zippy Invitational Mascot Relay will take place 
at the Expo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.  Fourteen life-sized mascots from 
surrounding sports teams and organizations will compete for the title of 
Mascot Relay Champion.

Participants in the mascot relay include Moondog from the Cleveland 
Cavaliers; Zippy from The University of Akron; Bugs Bunny and Wile E. 
Coyote from Time Warner Cable; C.D. Bear from Country Diner; Max-a-Moose 
from Malone College; Crusher from Youngstown Steel Hounds; Firestone High 
School Falcon; Browser from Akron Beacon Journal; Buck from Acme Fresh 
Markets; Gilby from Akron Public Schools; Louie Lightning Bug from First 
Energy; Orbit from Akron Aeros; and Wheelie from Akron Racers.
