             Akron Marathon Announces 2013 Poster Competition

Akron, OH (August 9, 2013) - The Akron Marathon, presented by Time Warner 
Cable, is offering local artists the opportunity to have their artwork 
featured as the official poster of the 2013 Akron Marathon. The winning 
entry will be printed as the commemorative poster for the 11th running of 
the Akron Marathon, which will take place on September 28, 2013.

The artwork will also be featured in the event guide distributed to more 
than 100,000 households in northeast Ohio. The winning artist will receive 
a framed print signed by the Board of Trustees and staff of the Akron 
Marathon. 

Designs can be submitted through the 2013 Poster Contest tab on the Akron 
Marathon Facebook page. Submissions for the contest will be accepted until 
Friday, August 23.  

All submitted artwork will be featured on the Akron Marathon Facebook 2013 
Poster Contest page. Fans of the Akron Marathon will be able to choose 
their favorite design when voting polls are open from August 26 through 
September 5. The entry with the most number of votes will be announced as 
the winner on Friday, September 6.

The Akron Marathon includes four events: the full marathon, the half 
marathon, the five-person team relay and the kids fun run. The 11th annual 
Akron Marathon, presented by Time Warner Cable, will be held September 28,
