Bismarck Marathon Opening Registration January 1 For 2023 Race
The 2023 Bismarck Marathon will open registration for the Full Marathon,
Half Marathon, and Relay on January 1, 2023. Registration prices will be
26.2% off race day prices in honor of the length of a full marathon and
will only be available for one week until Sunday, January 8.
North Dakota's longest running marathon will be the 42nd installment of The
Bismarck Marathon with events from Thursday, September 14 through Saturday,
September 16 at Cottonwood Park in Bismarck. The race route crosses into
Mandan via the Expressway Bridge and Memorial Bridge, giving runners a
scenic view of the Missouri River. The Bismarck Marathon's presenting
partner is MDU Resources Group Inc.
Running events such as the 10K and 5K, and free community events will open
for registration at a later date.
"We are thrilled to open registration for the 42nd annual Bismarck Marathon
in January as we prepare for another successful year," said co-race
director, Josh Askvig. "This event has become a special tradition in our
community, and we can't wait to see all the runners come together on race
weekend."
The Bismarck Marathon is a premier running event in the region, attracting
thousands of participants from all over the country including runners from
42 different states plus three countries: Canada, Guatemala, and Norway. In
addition to the races, the event features a post-race bar crawl, events for
kids, and more. In 2022, The Bismarck Marathon donated a total of $31,350
to 35 different organizations and charities.
"Whether you're a seasoned marathoner or just starting out running, the
Bismarck Marathon is a runner-friendly race with options for everyone,"
Askvig said.
The Bismarck Marathon also recently partnered with Race Roster, a running
registration platform that aims to create a superior user experience and
provide perks for registrations such as easy access to photos post-race,
race results, and the ability to transfer races or registrations.
