Press Release - Dallas Marathon - 5/17/16

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Nonprofits Join Forces: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Adds the BMW
Dallas Marathon to its Exciting Lineup of 2016 Events

Dallas, TX (May 17, 2016) - The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In
Training® campaign has announced that the BMW Dallas Marathon will be
included in its 2016 lineup of exciting national marathon events. Team In
Training (TNT) is the premiere charity sports program that inspires
discovery of personal goals and helps turn training into treatments for
blood cancer patients. The 46th running of the BMW Dallas Marathon, Half
Marathon and Behringer Relay is Sunday, December 11. Registration for the
event opens at bmwdallasmarathon.com on May 19.

Destined to be a powerful partnership, the LLS and race organizers for the
BMW Dallas Marathon already attract thousands of runners from across the
U.S. and globe. The two nonprofit organizations are using their partnership
to create an enhanced marathon race weekend experience for all participants
and spectators and, ultimately, help raise funds for their respective
causes.

Lisa Croley, chairman of the Dallas Marathon board of directors, said,
"Everyone finds their way into running for their own personal reasons,
whether that be health and fitness or supporting a worthy cause. Major
events and partners showcase the power of runners rallying together around
a common cause – we’re honored that Team In Training has selected the 2016
BMW Dallas Marathon as a key event and are excited to bring the community
and national support to life in fun and memorable ways this December."

The BMW Dallas Marathon dates back to 1971 and is Texas’ oldest running
marathon. The flat and fast course starts and finishes in downtown Dallas,
tracing a route highlighted by iconic landmarks and cityscapes, with scenic
viewing for spectators. The race is recognized as the official marathon of
the city of Dallas and since naming a primary beneficiary in 1997, the
Dallas Marathon board of directors has donated more than $3.8 million to
Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

"Team In Training is thrilled to have the BMW Dallas Marathon in our
national event lineup," said Andrew Coccari, LLS executive vice president
and chief product officer. "The funds raised through Team In Training and
the BMW Dallas Marathon Charity Partner Program help to advance more
breakthrough therapies for blood cancer patients. Join the more than half a
million finishers who have fundraised to help LLS lead the way in finding
therapies that are changing lives today."

Since its inception in 1988, TNT has raised more than $1.4 billion, trained
more than 600,000 people and helped LLS invest more than $1 billion in
research to advance breakthrough treatments and cures. As the voice for all
blood cancer patients, LLS works to ensure that patients have access to
treatments and provides free education and support services to patients,
families and caregivers.
