Press Release - Edinburgh Marathon - 12/21/15

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Edinburgh will be 7th marathon in seven days for inspirational Paul Brown

The Edinburgh Marathon will be the final leg of Paul Brown’s incredible
seven marathons in seven days challenge starting on the 23rd May 2016. Paul
will be raising funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a hugely
debilitating condition which results in muscle degeneration and premature
death for young males. Step brothers Ben and Cameron, both ten years old,
suffer from the condition. Paul would like to use some of the money to help
fulfil Ben and Cameron’s wish list of things to do and places to go before
their condition deteriorates further and they become reliant on feeding
tubes and breathing apparatus.

On the 29th May, Paul will line up with thousands of others in Edinburgh to
tackle the 26.2 mile route which includes some breathtaking views of
Edinburgh and the East Lothian coastline. Paul will already have covered
over 157 miles since the start of the week and will line up in Edinburgh
presumably exhausted from his exploits! He will need to draw on every bit
of inspiration to complete the last leg of his challenge.

Paul will also be raising funds for:

SANDS Lothian who support bereaved parents who have experienced the death
of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or soon after birth.

The Tree Club, which is an after-school club for children with additional
needs in West Lothian.

And The Fund a Wish Foundation which helps young people with a diagnosed
long or short term terminal health condition that prevents them leading a
normal life. They provide access to activities and wishes in the interests
of social welfare to improve their quality of life.

The annual Edinburgh Marathon Festival will take place on 28/29 May 2016,
with standard marathon entries set to close at midnight on 3rd January. To
