Press Release - Elite Runner Management Signs Zach Hine - 7/31/13

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Zach Hine Signs With Elite Runner Management

Zachary Hine, professional long distance runner and former Ivy League
champion, has signed an agency contract with Elite Runner Management, the
Michigan based sports agency headed by Christopher Mengel.

"We are very excited to have the opportunity to represent Zach. He has made
great strides in his short professional career and has shown that he has
both the talent and work ethic to become one of the country's premier long
distance runners," Mengel said. "We look forward to working with Zach and
his coach, Brad Hudson, to help him achieve the ambitious running goals he
has set for himself."

Hine, 25, is a graduate of Cornell University where he received his
Master's degree in engineering in 2010. At Cornell, under Coach Robert
Johnson and working with the assistance of John Kellog, Hine was the 10,000
meter outdoor Ivy League track champion and won consecutive indoor Ivy
League championships at 5,000 meters. After graduation, Hine became a
member of the Hansons-Brooks Distance Project in Rochester, Michigan. In
2012, Hine moved to Boulder, Colorado where he now trains with other elite
runners under the tutelage of Brad Hudson.

Hine has run some of his best races since turning professional. Most
recently, he has set personal records at a variety of distances including
the 5K – 13:51 (Westfield 2013), 10,000 meters – 28:37 (Payton Jordan
2013), and 2:16:40 at the 2012 USA Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston. He
placed 4th at the 2012 USA 25K Championships and holds a half marathon
personal best of 1:03:54 (Naples 2011). He was the second American finisher
to Ryan Hall in the 2011 Boston Marathon. Despite battling hamstring
issues, he ran 1:03:58 at last month's USA Half Marathon Championships in
Duluth.

Hudson attributes Hine's recent success to consistent training and good
strength.

"Zach's training is going very well and he is getting stronger every year,"
said Hudson. In Hine's preparations for a Fall marathon, "he is fitter now
than before he ran 28:37" at Payton Jordan in April, Hudson added. The way
he is progressing "I fully expect that Zach can be a contender by 2016."

Hine's race plans for the rest of 2013 include an invitation that he
recently accepted to run the Falmouth Road Race on August 11th, the B.A.A
Half Marathon in Boston, and a marathon before the end of the year.

Zach Hine's comments:

On moving to Boulder: "Boulder has given me the opportunity to train at
altitude, which I think has really improved my races at sea level, while
also working out with an amazing group of runners (including Jason
Hartmann, Patrick Rizzo, Kenyon Neuman) who are dedicated and relentless in
their pursuit of success."

On his coach Brad Hudson: "I am truly lucky to have Brad as a coach. He
works incredibly hard and cares so much about his athletes. Having him
always there for me has made me demand more of myself and has pushed me
farther than I could have hoped."

On signing with ERM: "I signed with Chris (Mengel) of Elite Runner
Management because we had many mutual connections (including being from
neighboring small towns in Western Massachusetts) and everyone I talked to
spoke very highly of him. In getting to know Chris, I could sense his
passion and enthusiasm for the sport and being an agent. I know that Chris
is the right person to help my career reach the success I'm looking for."
