Press Release - Houston Marathon - 6/24/16

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Caulfield to be honored at Sports Security Conference

HOUSTON (June 24, 2016) - Carly Caulfield, Senior Director, Operations for
the Houston Marathon Committee (HMC), will be recognized as one of the top
sports security professionals under the age of 40 at the 2016 National
Sports Safety and Security Conference and Exhibition set for July 12-14, in
Phoenix, Arizona.

This award recognizes a young professional (under 40 years old) of the
sports safety and security field that has, over the past year, demonstrated
outstanding leadership in addressing safety and security issues. As a
member of the Public Safety Committee, Caulfield has been an integral part
of improved integration with local, state and federal agencies, including
Police, Fire, FBI, Homeland Security and the Office of Emergency
Management, among others. She has been with the HMC for more than fifteen
years and has served in virtually every operational capacity within the
organization. Promoted to Operations Director in 2007 and Senior Director
in 2016, the organization has enacted a diverse set of safety and security
measures during her tenure.

"Carly's leadership has been imperative to our public safety planning
efforts over the past few years," said Houston Marathon Committee and
Foundation Executive Director Wade Morehead. "Her attention to detail and
insight has helped us improve security without compromising the participant
experience and joy of the event."

The presentation of the "Industry Leader Under 40 Award" will take place on
the second day of the seventh annual conference, which is hosted by the
National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at The
University of Southern Mississippi.

"The Industry Leader Under 40 award is to allow professional leagues, NCAA
member institutions and marathon and endurance organizations to honor
outstanding individuals that have gone above and beyond for their sports
safety and security." said NCS4 Director Dr. Lou Marciani. "These
contributions involve enhancing safety and security at their venue beyond
what is normally required, and setting an example for other aspiring sports
security professionals to follow."

Those being recognized include the following:

Carly Caulfield, Houston Marathon Committee (Road Race/ Endurance
Events)

Andrey Reis, Rio 2016 Olympics (Olympics)
