    THE NEW MARATÓ DE BARCELONA WEBSITE IS UP AND RUNNING ON THE NET
                Opening registrations from July 2nd 2007

The Barcelona Marathon 2008 now has a new website. This page, 
www.maratobarcelona.com, will contain all the information regarding the 
race, as well as acting as the main instrument for athletes to register 
themselves for the next Barcelona Marathon as from 2nd July 2007. 

The Barcelona Marathon 2008 is underway. The race taking place on 2nd March 
2008, the route of which will go through the streets of the city, is now 
able to boast a new website.  The website contains all the latest 
information regarding the race in addition to offering advice for athletes 
and providing interesting information related to the event. 

This website, with its exhaustive interactive menu, will be a fundamental 
tool for all those wishing to consult the details of this macro event. This 
is a contest which last year beat its own participation record with 
approximately 7500 marathon runners, of whom 40 per cent were foreigners. 
In view of this, all the information is available in four languages: 
Catalan, Spanish, English and French.

Likewise, by accessing www.maratobarcelona.com, all those 
interested in participating in the marathon can register online as from 2nd 
July 2007, the date on which the registrations for the race open. A 
comfortable, quick and efficient way of ensuring a place at the 
multitudinous starting line which will take place on 2nd March in Avenida 
Maria Cristina. 

Furthermore, as with last year's event, the marathon website will also have 
a special section for Marató Expo, the fair which will be held two days 
before the race. This which will act as a rendezvous for the most 
prestigious brands from the world of athletics in conjunction with 
representatives from other renowned marathons which are being organised 
throughout the rest of the world.
