   New Orleans Mardi Gras Marathon Extends On-Line Registration

February 10, 2008

The 2008 New Orleans Mardi Gras Marathon has extended its online 
registration to midnight on February 13th.  Take advantage of the 
discounted prices by registering today on active.com.  Fees for the 
marathon are $90, half-marathon $45 and 5k $30.  The marathon and 
half-marathon scheduled for February 24th both start at 7 a.m. with the 5k 
following at 7:10 a.m.  The marathon's brand new course will take runners 
on a journey starting at the Superdome, through the historic French 
Quarter, down St. Charles Avenue, around City Park and finally back to the 
Superdome.  The certified course is flat and fast, has only one small hill 
and is entirely below sea level.
