The Marine Corps 17.75K opens this Wednesday, March 11 for registration.
The event offers guaranteed access to the 40th Marine Corps Marathon prior
to the MCM Lottery, which opens this Friday, March 13. Registration for the
17.75K and the MCM Lottery will be available online at

QUANTICO, VA (March 9, 2015) - Runners can obtain guaranteed access to the
40th Marine Corps Marathon by running the Marine Corps 17.75K on Saturday,
March 28 in Prince William County, VA. Limited entries will be available as
registration for the Marine Corps 17.75K opens at noon, Eastern on
Wednesday, March 11 at www.marinemarathon.com.

Access Granted cards to the 40th MCM will be presented to all 17.75K
finishers, age 14 and above, following the run through Prince William
Forest Park. The cards will include a code to register for the Marathon
that will be held on Sunday, Oct. 25, in Arlington, VA and in the nation's
capital. Access Granted registration must be completed by midnight on
Monday, March 30 to be eligible to run 'The People's Marathon.'

New this year, Marine Corps 17.75K participants will receive beautifully
designed brass-plated finisher medals embossed with the unique distance
that honors the year the Marine Corps was founded. Runners also will
receive specially designed 17.75K bibs with timing device, and a forest
green technical shirt.

While the Marine Corps 17.75K course occurs through scenic tree-lined
Prince William Forest Park located in Eastern Prince William County, the
11.03 mile run is no 'day in the park.' Runners must be up for the
challenge of the course that winds along the inclines, twists and turns of
the forest and over both asphalt and gravel roads.

The Marine Corps 17.75K will begin at 7 a.m. along Dumfries Road/Route 235
in Prince William County. Free shuttle service will be offered on event
morning (March 28) to and from the event. Parking for the shuttle service
can be accessed from I95, off exit 152B in Prince William County.

Marine Corps 17.75K shuttle service will be available at these locations:
-Route 234 Commuter Lot - Jefferson Davis Hwy/US Route 1 & Dumfries
Rd/Route 234
-Quantico Center - at Buildings #3800 & #3850 (located on Fettler Park
Drive near the intersection of Dumfries Road/Route 234 & Van Buren Road)
-Edward Kelly Leadership Center - Route 234 & Bristow Road (14715
Bristow Road)

Marine Corps 17.75K runners should arrive no later than 6:15 a.m. on event
morning and are encouraged to carpool. Because the Marine Corps 17.75K is
held inside Prince William Forest Park, course viewing is not as
spectator-friendly as other MCM events but spectators will have access to
the park and the finish.

Marine Corps 17.75K Packet Pick-up will be held on from 10 a.m. to 6:30
p.m. on March 26 and 27 at the VA Runner store located at 14210 Smoketown
Road in Woodbridge, VA.
