Kendall Subaru Signs On As Title Sponsor of the Missoula Marathon on July 14
February 21 (Missoula, Mont.) - Kendall Subaru of Missoula has reached an
agreement to become the title sponsor of the Missoula Marathon for the next
three years, race officials announced Thursday.
The Kendall Subaru of Missoula logo will be featured prominently on shirts,
banners and various promotional materials as well as on the two Subaru
vehicles chosen as the race day pace car for both the half and the
marathon.
In exchange, Kendall will help pay costs associated with staging the race,
such as renting timing equipment, hiring safety officials, providing free
pictures for participants and the ever important lots and lots of
porta-potties at the start lines and along the course.
According to race director Anders Brooker, this is a major step toward
being a top-notch destination race.
"This is huge for us," Brooker said. "To be a leading marathon in the
northwest and the U. S., we needed a title sponsor."
The seventh annual Missoula Marathon weekend of events is set for July
12-14.
The race has seen tremendous growth in recent years. Last year's events
drew a field of 5,000 runners for the marathon, half, 5K and kids marathon.
Brooker says he expects the field to reach a maximum capacity of 6,000
runners for 2013, including 1,500 participants for the marathon and 3,500
for the half-marathon by summer and an additional 1,000 for the Saturday 5K
as well. Advance registrations are pushing four times more than where they
were last year at this time. The kids marathon will also draw around 700
local children.
"The Missoula Marathon is a fantastic event, raising more than $61,000 for
local charities in 2012, and Kendall Subaru of Missoula is proud to be the
title sponsor for the next three years," said Jessica Dominic, General

deep community involvement, so it's a natural fit for us to be involved in
an event that does so much for the community we call home."

than 60 years ago. Now Kendall is one of the largest auto dealerships in
the Northwest with locations in Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and, of course,
Montana.
The Missoula Marathon is the premier event hosted by Run Wild Missoula a
501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission to promote and support runners
and walkers of all ages and abilities. Programs range from beginner runner
training classes to advanced trail running classes. No matter what your
