Press Release - New York Road Runners - 4/21/20

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York Road Runners In-Person Race Events Canceled Through June 30

Runners have the option to receive refunds for all races canceled
                              due to COVID-19

New York, April 21, 2020 - Due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19)
situation and in accordance with New York City’s newly updated restriction
on public events through June 30, all New York Road Runners (NYRR)
in-person events and programs in June have been canceled. The new
cancellations are in addition to the previously announced NYRR event
cancellations through May 31, which now include the Global Running Day 5K
on June 3, Queens 10K on June 7, New York Mini 10K on June 13, Front
Runners New York LGBT Pride Run 5M on June 27, Achilles Hope & Possibility
4M on June 28, and all accompanying Rising New York Road Runners youth
events.

During these difficult times we are all challenged with doing our part to
help and pausing on the group activities we love so much is a major piece
of that. Since March 15, a total of 14 NYRR race events have been
canceled. Over this time NYRR has been working to find the best possible
resolution for the running community.

All runners registered for canceled races during the COVID-19 outbreak will
have the choice of an entry fee refund or other race resolution options.
This exception to current NYRR race registration policy is being
implemented to support the running community during these challenging
times. NYRR will be connecting directly with runners impacted by canceled
races regarding their specific resolution options. Details on canceled
race resolutions are available here.

In the days and weeks ahead, NYRR will continue to work closely with
government officials regarding the ongoing status of scheduled in-person
events and programs with the possibility of additional cancellations in the
future.
