MARATHON OF THE PALM BEACHES OPENS REGISTRATION
                      FOR CORPORATE AND TEAM RELAYS

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (July 14, 2004) -- If you’ve ever wanted to do a
marathon without running the full 26.2 miles, now is your chance! The
Marathon of the Palm Beaches has opened registration for team relays which
will provide runners of all abilities a unique opportunity to participate
in the inaugural event.

With a team of five runners, a group can sign up for either the Open or
Corporate Relay category. Entry fees are $200 for the Open Relay and $500
for the Corporate Relay. There are three divisions to choose from within
each of the team relay categories: All-Male, All-Female or Mixed Group.
The relay will cover the entire 26.2-mile marathon in five legs, ranging
from three to eight mile distances. Trophies will be awarded to the top
three winning teams in each division, and all relay team participants will
receive finishing medals. Corporate team entrants will receive access to a
special corporate hospitality area after the race which will include a full
food buffet, beverages and team photo opportunities. The corporate teams
will also be prominently mentioned on a special recognition board and
signage posted at the event.

The relay will begin at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 14, at the same time
as the full and half-marathons. The first runner covers eight miles to the
exchange zone at South Olive Park, the second covers 5.2 miles to the
exchange zone in front of the Meyer Amphitheatre on Flagler Drive, the
third completes three miles to the exchange zone at Getter Park in the Old
Northwood historic district, the fourth completes 3.8 miles to Currie Park
and the fifth completes 6.2 miles to the finish line at the Meyer
Amphitheatre. Shuttle buses will be available to pick up runners at their
completed legs and return them to the start/finish area at the Meyer
Amphitheater.

Team members will be timed with one electronic timing chip that runners
will wear on a Velcro strap around their ankle. Each of the five relay
exchanges will feature a timing pad that the runner must cross before
handing the timing chip to the next team member. Runners can opt to carry
the timing chip, but they must bend down to touch the timing pad at the
exchange zone to clock their run.

The inaugural Marathon of the Palm Beaches, presented by Pontiac-GMC, will
be held on Nov.14, 2004 from 6:00 a.m. to noon. The event takes place over
a three-day weekend packed with race-related activities, including the
CityPlace Celebrity Mile hosted by Mayor Lois Frankel on Sat., Nov. 13 and
a two-day Sports and Fitness Expo on Friday and Sat., Nov. 12 - 13. The
event is co-sponsored by WRMF 97.9 fm, ESPN Radio 760 AM, Marriott West
Palm Beach, The Palm Beach Post, Carey O’Donnell PR Group, the City of West
