         MAYOR NUTTER TO KICK OFF GORE-TEX® PHILADELPHIA MARATHON
           RACE WEEKEND AT COMCAST HEALTH & FITNESS EXPO FRIDAY

            Opening event to welcome race participants and fans. 

EDITORS AND VISUAL PRESS: EXCELLENT VISUALS. Sixth Annual Mayor’s High Five
Award presentation to inspirational marathon participant; LEGacy Runners 
displaying medals of all 22 marathons; unveiling of the state-of-the-art 
2015 GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon finisher’s medal. Olympian Bill 
Rodgers will display his winning marathon claque from 1974.
 
WHAT:   Officials kick-off the 22nd Annual GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon
        Race Weekend, November 20-22, and welcome nearly 30,000 runners to
        the weekend’s races – the GORE-TEX ® Philadelphia Marathon and Half
        Marathon, Rothman Institute 8K, and Kids Fun Run. 

        Philadelphia Marathon LEGacy Runners, who have participated in at
        least 15 Philadelphia Marathons, will be introduced including
        newest LEGacy inductee and Philadelphia native, Gaeten Dominic.
        Mayor Nutter will announce the sixth annual Mayor’s High Five Award
        recipient, recognizing a participant whose inspirational journey to
        the starting line is as much a victory as crossing the finish.
        Marathon officials will unveil new stellar state-of-the-art 2015
        GORE-TEX® Philadelphia Marathon finisher’s medal.
