Registration Still Open for P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona
Marathon and Half Marathon Registration
Available at Health & Fitness Expo Only
PHOENIX, Ariz. (Jan. 3, 2005) -- Registration for the second annual P.F.
Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & ½ Marathon is still available at
the event's Health & Fitness Expo Fri., Jan. 7 and Sat., Jan. 8 at the
Phoenix Civic Plaza Convention Center. Last year, the half marathon sold
out on the Friday preceding the race, so race organizers are encouraging
all interested runners and walkers to sign up early. Online registration
has closed and there is no race day registration, therefore the expo is the
sole avenue for race entry.
Registration at the expo will be $85 for the half marathon and $115 for the
full. The race will be limited to 20,000 participants for the half and
15,000 for the full marathon.
The Health & Fitness Expo, presented by Fox 10 and UPN 45, is free and open
to the public. All participants must pick up their race number, timing
chip, T-shirt and goodie bags there. Visitors will find over 100 exhibitors
sampling and selling the latest in health and nutrition products, running
gear and much more. Live music and motivational speakers will also be on
hand to entertain.
The P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & ½ Marathon offers two
new, scenic courses that run through Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe. In
addition to more than 50 bands performing live music along the courses, 30
high school cheer squads add to the festivities as well. In its debut last
year, the race broke the world record for the largest first time annual
running event, with 29,434 participants. All registered race participants
and volunteers receive a free ticket to the post-race concert that evening
at Tempe Beach Park, featuring Jason Mraz and Zowie Bowie.

Directions to the Health & Fitness Expo, presented by Fox 10 and UPN 45 The
Expo will be held in Hall C of the Phoenix Civic Plaza Convention Center,
located in downtown Phoenix between Washington and Jefferson, and 3rd and
5th Street. Numerous parking garages (for $5 to $8 a day) and limited meter
parking will be available in the area. The Plaza East Garage* is the
largest parking structure nearby, and is located just west of 7th Street
off of Washington. From here, it’s a short walk (couple of blocks) to the
Expo.
