   TOP NATIONAL ELITES TO COMPETE IN MEDTRONIC TC 1 MILE, MAY 3RD
    Increased prize purse and age group awards draw record field

MINNEAPOLIS – May 1, 2007 – Returning Medtronic TC 1 Mile men's open 
champion Luke Watson joins Team USA Minnesota's Ryan Kleimenhagen, Blake 
Bolden, Christian Hesch, Richard Kimeli and Ryan Meissen in a mission to 
complete a sub-four minute mile Thursday, May 3rd.

Just after winning the mile in last weekend's Drake Relays, Team USA 
Minnesota's Jenelle Deatherage returns to Minneapolis to take on former TC 
1 Mile champion Denisa Costescu, Leah Kiprono, Rebecca Tallam and Katherine
Bloemker in the women's open race.

"The very competitive national field in this year's race indicates the 
growing interest in short-distance events," said Brian Mastel, Twin Cities 
Marathon, Inc.'s race operations manager. "In its three-year history, the 
Medtronic TC 1 Mile has grown into a race that has the potential to attract 
the nation's top milers because of the caliber of competition and our 
reputation as an excellent host for championships."

Total prize purse of $5,700 includes monetary awards for men and women in 
open and masters categories, as well as age group medals for first through 
third place for the more than 1,800 registered runners. For more
