TORONTO MARATHON SET TO HIT THE STREETS OF TORONTO ON OCTOBER 14, 2007!
IMPACT TO DRIVERS WILL BE LESS THAN IN PREVIOUS YEARS.
Toronto, ON – October 8, 2007 – The 13th annual Toronto Marathon (TM) will
run through the streets of Toronto on Sunday, October 14, 2007. The
Toronto Marathon which begins at Mel Lastman Square and finishes at Queen's
Park, will launch a brand new course for 2007 showcasing many scenic and
historic landmarks and neighbourhoods including Yonge Street, Forest Hill,
Casa Loma, Rosedale Valley Ravine, St. Lawrence Market, the Flatiron
Building, Queen's Quay, the Martin Goodman Trail, High Park, and University
Avenue. A course map is available to view at www.TorontoMarathon.com.
"Special consideration for potential participants as well as the residents
of Toronto was taken when designing this new and improved Marathon
course.", says Jay Glassman, Race Director and Founder of the Toronto
Marathon. "Eliminating the large portion through North York ensures
participants will be through Yonge Street, Forest Hill, the Bayview
Extension and the downtown core much earlier this year, lessening the
impact to drivers and the TTC on race day."
