               Tenth Anniversary Marathon Week kicks off 

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio - The base will be busier than normal 
this week as officials prepare to host the tenth anniversary U.S. Air Force 
Marathon. 

"We are anticipating our biggest turn-out in event history. We have more 
than 4,700 runners from all over the world registered for the race and more 
than 1,500 local volunteers helping out this week," said Molly Louden, USAF 
Marathon director. "With our Sports & Fitness Expo, gourmet pasta dinner, 
celebrity runners - Bill Rodgers and Alberto Salazar, Marathon and Half 
Marathon Pace Team, A-10 flyover and aircraft static displays, this year 
promises to be an exciting one," she said.

Event schedule:
-Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.: Sports and Fitness Exposition at 
Ervin J. Nutter Center, featuring vendors, celebrity running clinics, 
runner packet pick-up and Pace team sign-up. Media should call Rachel 
Castle 937-522-3520 before covering this event.

-Friday 6 p.m.: Gourmet pasta dinner at the National Museum of the United 
States Air Force, Modern Flight Gallery featuring gourmet pasta and museum 
tours. Media credential required for this event - call Rachel Castle 
937-522-3520 by noon Friday to RSVP.

-Saturday, 7 a.m.: The tenth anniversary U.S. Air Force Marathon begins at 
the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Media credential 
required for this event - call Rachel Castle 937-522-3520 by noon Friday to 
RSVP. Sign in upon arrival at the media tent located at the finish line to 
receive credential. Escorted course rides will be given throughout the 
event.
