What a great race! Starting and finishing from the Fargo Dome is awesome, if the weather is bad you wont have to stand in the elements before or after the race. Bag drop right at the start line for a change of clothes. Great support on the course, tons of spectators, pace groups, bands and DJ's on the course. Finish line is awesome, they have a camera outside the dome showing it on the big screen so you can see your friends before they finish in the dome.

Fargo is a best kept secret. The organization is top notch from start to finish. The people of Fargo really go all out to welcome you. The course support and the staff were great. Make this a bucket list race. You will not be disappointed.

Generally, I would say there is not much to do in Fargo....but this marathon was great!!!!

Well organized! Excellent swag bag, literally. Great finishers hoodie & medal. Even the result info was the most informative I've ever received.

The Fargodome was an amazing place, so cool to come in & my husband could see me come around the corner on the big megatron screen to be prepared to take photos at the finish.

FARGO is North Dakota's best!!!

"Flat course that lets you see Fargo" (about: 2017)

I had originally signed up for Fargo as an opportunity to run a flat and fast spring race. I was not disappointed in either of those aspects - it was flat and it was fast.

The course meanders through the city of Fargo, ND crossing the Red River (of the North) into Moorhead, MN visiting the two colleges campuses before heading back through the streets of Fargo. Having run a few big city races (Twin Cities and Chicago), I was surprised as to how residential the route was and how much support from the locals there was. It was great to see the city come out to support. The only knock on the course is that it was almost too flat - it got a bit monotonous to continue at the same cadence the entire run.

While the packet pickup, post race shower (!! bring a towel) and swag (a great medal, shirt and bag) were great, the expo itself was a little lacking - I was expecting more than just a few random booths. I was also slightly disappointed in the lack of post run swag-shop that seems to be fairly common amongst most runs. Still I would recommend it for anyone wanting a flat, cool springtime run.

This was my 11th time running the Fargo Marathon, as I missed the first year and last year. Love the start and finish in the FargoDome. I had a great time pacing the 5 hour Pace group and was fun seeing all those first timers and all the other marathoners out on the course. Nice to see plenty of chocolate milk, chocolate chip cookie dough, and hot pizza at the finish. The beer was all gone by the time I made it to the beer area. Loved all the bands and music along the course. Not a lot of spectators along the course, but the ones that were out were very enthusiastic. Loved the medal and the hoodie and the swag bag was great quality. You can tell a marathon runner put on this marathon. Consider Fargo for ND or if you want to just run a fun marathon.

Small but fun expo. Everyone was so nice! Shuttles to the race and return ran smoothly. Start was so nice inside the Fargo dome. Was able to stay warm, warm up, get some photos and use clean indoor bathrooms.

The race itself was fairly flat. People cheering along the course were encouraging and held up some pretty funny signs. Finish line inside the dome was great as well. Basic finish line food-pizza, cookies, chocolate milk, banana.

Great race.
The crowd support was amazing.
The volunteers wore gloves... I think this is the first time I have ever seen this.
Loved starting and finishing in the Fargo Dome. Lots of parking. Bouncy houses for the kids at the expo.

Fargo is full of very nice people and energetic spectators. The course was shadier than I expected. A warm day negated any benefits of an indoor Fargo Dome start, but it had been 29 degrees at start time a week earlier. Gentle rolling course, plenty of food and drink at the end, I highly recommend this ND marathon.

A run to give thanks, I like to give thanks to the director and staff for a great race. I know you can't control the weather which was very warm but thanks to the people of Fargo the last 6 or 7 miles with ice chips and watering of the hose was a very nice surprise. I would like to thank the VA of Pittsburgh, Pa for being a DAV this was marathon #40 state #32 living on my 3rd pacemaker. I cherish all my runs and hope to inspire other runners to never give up if you like to run. I would like to thank Republic Service to achieve this dream. All I do is pick up 15 tons of trash and run 9 to 10 miles behind the truck 5 days a week. I would like to thank the Lord for giving my the ability to run after going through all my heart operations and not loosing the love to run. USMC Lamburtus Melcher Bib 1006

"Fargo embraces this race" (about: 2016)

This was the 9th time I've run the full Fargo Marathon. I've also run the half three times. So I've seen it grow and perfect over the years.

One of the most striking aspects of the whole thing is the the way Fargo embraces marathon weekend as our unofficial kick off to summer.

We have endured a long bitter winter of working, training, going to school and shuttling our kids to hockey. We are ready to get outside and see a little green. We also haven't had a huge community block party since the Bison football season ended with another National Championship. So we are primed.

We generally like our neighbors and most of the people who live here. The marathon gives us a great excuse to sit in lawn chairs, grill, drink, look at people and hang outside with our friends while watching a sport that we kind of understand. The kids love it too because they can run around with their friends and yell at grown ups.

We especially like to see runners and spectators that we know so we can yell something funny at them.

It's a fun race in a beautiful community. Thanks to the marathon staff and especially the volunteers for showcasing this great place.
