"Great race especially for first-timers." (about: 2013)

Great course, relatively flat with some gentle inclines, through neighborhoods and the Texas A&M campus. The student organizations on the campus did a great job cheering us on! Plenty of porta-potties both at the start and on the course. The volunteers were outstanding, great support all along the course. The start and finish gate arrangement was much better this year allowing for a much better flow of traffic through the food areas. The race directors have done an awesome job with this race and continue to improve each year. They've covered all the details. Can't say enough good things about this race.

BCS Marathon and race director Chris Field have one thing in mind: Runner satisfaction, and they far exceeded this expectation. I was supposed to run the Dallas Marathon today, which got iced out. Not only did he accommodate hundreds of us, he was super sensitive to the BCS registered runners who came from or through iced out areas. The course was spectacular, great volunteer support, highly organized, and the communication was outstanding, with continual updates throughout the night and early morning hours due to potential ice there as well. Not a negative thing I can say, I will be back, hopefully with many running friends! The runner was their #1 priority, and it showed! The charities the race supports were awesome as well!

"A marathon by runners for runners. Very organized" (about: 2013)

Amazing and successful efforts by the RD, staff and volunteers to provide the best experience possible for the runners. 2013 had loud cheering mobs all along the course and great volunteers at the numerous aid stations. Nice and large medal. Best is the communication from the RD and staff to keep everyone informed and motivated. Feels like a family. Race supports wonderful charities. The only problem is that the race is getting so well recognized and popular that I cannot place in my age group after winning in year one in 2011.

The race director is top notch and the marathon is one of the most organized events I have ever run. The course is well thought out and the volunteers and aid stations were flawless. This is a must do marathon!!!

"First timer" (about: 2013)

First Marathon
COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

My goal was to run/walk the half but a training injury took me to just walking it by myself. I was nervous but all the encouragement from everyone I met helped so much! I didn't feel bad because I was forced to walk instead of run, want to start re training soon in hopes to run it next year! Thanks bcs marathon for a great first time experience!!

"A joyful, organized, refreshing moment in time!" (about: 2011)

I never lacked for information. From registration to now. As Icemageddon was heading in from the north, I had FB posts and emails through the night before the run assuring of conditions and plan. Running through the Texas A & M Campus and having the student organizations and Corps cheering us on was an added bonus! WHOOP!

"Great race to PR" (about: 2013)

6-10 previous marathons | 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 3

I cannot say enough great things about the organizers of this race. I was registered for Dallas marathon which cancelled so the bcs marathon allowed for 450 spots to open. I am so happy they did this because I PR'd and BQ'd.

Here are my important a things for the race:
1. Course - fairly flat except for some pretty big rolling hills from mile 11-14 but with each uphill, you got a great down hill. Other than that, it was flat, well marked considering they don't completely close streets, and the roads were even
2. The start- Good flow out of the corrals. No issues. The Finish is great because it's on a downhill. The post Race food is the bomb! Great selection of food and the beer was awesome!
3. Water stops - very well staffed with lots of volunteers. Consistent with water always first, Gatorade second. My only complaint was that they filled the cups too high with fluid, but that's me nit-picking
4. Swag - decent. Free travel foam rollers so that rocks
5. Spectators - pretty weak sauce for the first half but once you hit campus the crowds were great. I think weather played a big role because it was really cold.
6. Communication - probably the best for any race I've done. Lots of pertinent communication via email and Facebook.
7. Leadership - the race director high fives me at the finish line. That's a winner in my book.

Basically, for a small-scale race, this one is pretty awesome. I definitely recommend it to a Texan that doesn't want to travel out of state to PR. I definitely plan on doing either the full or the half in the future.

"This race is the best race I have ever run!!!" (about: 2013)

I have been running for 20 years and must say that the BCS Marathon is the best race I have ever run. From the constant Facebook updates & giveaways to the great communication and unbelievable goodie bags (with a Foam Roller) this race is just a joy to run. The race course is great. Love the new finish line on a down hill. Love the crowd support and LOVE the great food at the end. Way to go BCS Marathon team. You knocked it out of the park again!!!

"Easy to manage, great post race spread." (about: 2013)

Course is fairly flat and is well marked. Lots of aid stations along the way. Parking is close to the start line with no traffic jams. Post race spread has a lot of good food and beer. Cannot recommend this race too highly.
