"Unexpectedly nice" (General Comments)
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 I entered the race only because I was on a short stay in the neighborhood and wanted a training run. I knew ahead of time that the race was going to be small and course was going to be hilly, but the race turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The view was fantastic (which made the hills not as bad as I had feared), the organization was more than adequate, and the spectators were enthusiastic, though not huge in number. I also must praise the race organizers, because they were very nice and quick in responding to my email inquiry. I would recommand this race to someone who wants to run a challenging marathon for the sake of the enjoyment and the workout. Don't look for a PR there.

"Fantastic Hilly Course with Great Ocean Views" (about: 2001)
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 2 It is a great course for those who like hills and views. I took a friend on this run and with only 2 training runs, she finished without pain or stiffness. I know it is hard to believe, but it is true. We walked the hills and ran the rest, walked a minute every 10 and had a lot of laughs.

"Rolling hills and hills" (about: 2001)
COURSE: 3 ORGANIZATION: 3 FANS: 1 PV is a challenge. The hills aren't steep but they're everywhere. Liked it all except for running on the road shoulder with cars and trucks. That sucked. Water stations great, good support. PV is a challange. Would not run it again unless better traffic. More people out would be sweet also. But again it is an upscale BMW driven culture there. PS - although the course is above the ocean - I can't say I spent too much time watching for whales or dolphins. |
