I thought the course was well-selected, running through a variety of scenery. Course was flat and mostly shaded. The entire event was very well run from start to finish.

Coming into Savannah for this race and knowing it was the inaugural, I had pretty low expectations.

Parking was easy and abundant. Pick up race morning was pretty simple, and the Porto-Johns were fine... if you got there before 7. My friend and I landed on site 1 hour before the gun, and we had an easy go. Not everyone could say that though.

The race start got postponed because the bathroom line was so long, and threw my entire warmup off. As a first-time race, I expected some nonsense.

The course was beautiful, but due to the 8:15 start time, things heated up quickly on this April in Georgia. Fluid stations were few and far between. I anticipated this too, and thank God I brought a bottle with me. I needed every drop of water I could get my hands on.

The helpers were very friendly, and the neighbors too. Don't expect too many people though, or you will be disappointed. It felt like a trail race, minus the trail.

All-in-all, they've got some changes to make, but I'd come back again. 6 a.m. start time would have been perfect.
