"Great trail race on fun single track." (about: 2006)
First Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 2 This is my first marathon, and it was super fun. Great group of people to run with, and a great course. Lots of fast downhill and rolling single track with a couple of good climbs towards the end. Aid stations were good and trail markers were, for the most part, easy to figure out. Pefect running weather. I would do it again. Good shirts, belt buckles, and medals.

COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 2 A very interesting course but a very narrow and difficult trail. Last 5-6 miles of the course included goat hill and other hills. A tough way to finish.

"Fun and challenging" (about: 2006)
First Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 This was my first race ever, I did the half marathon and with my lack of training (I am a climber not a runner), I am glad I didn't get in over my head with the full. Great race coordination, markers, and stations! LOVE THE BELT BUCKLE, which is why the night before the race, I hopped in my van and chose to participate.

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 2 This is an excellent trail marathon with some very challenging "ups and downs" - especially Goat Hill near mile 21. I'm definitely coming back, but with more hill training under my legs. The aid stations and support were great!

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 4 FANS: 2 This was my first train marathon and I will look forward to running this again next year. Very beautiful and very challenging. The variety of food at the end was a nice treat.

"Beautiful!!! Definitely rough..." (about: 2005)

| 1 Auburn Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 3 This was my first half-marathon (actually, my very first 'official' run of any kind for that matter). I probably would not ever recommend a trail marathon to any beginner as a starter if the others are gonna be like this one... The 'climb' was definitely quite hilly (especially starting mile 8). Nevertheless, you will definitely feel great about yourself as you run across that finish line!! The scenery was absolutely beautiful... The run was very well organized with very clear markings on the trail. There were plenty water/snack stations (thank goodness) and you were rewarded with lots of yummy snack/food after the run. Would I do it again? Probably... but of course, with more 'elevation' training... :)

COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 3 No vaseline girls at the aid stations. :-( Nice, mostly shady course for a first marathon. Where and when will the results be posted? |
