"A solid chance to run a marathon" (about: 2013)

I ran this race on a whim, deciding on it three days before when I found out it had been postponed because of weather. I hadn't run a marathon in three years and wondered how I'd do, given the chance, and Three Bridges offered that chance to just go out and run 26.2 miles with a clock running and water stops. I enjoyed the multiple out-and-back course, because it allowed me to compare splits. I don't need spectators, so being lonely wasn't terrible, plus I saw so many of the runners along the way. The timing was perfect, because I focus on the half marathon and a December race allowed me to do that and run the marathon as true end to my season. I understand local resistance forced the race to discontinue, and that's a shame, because it was my ideal marathon.

"Beautiful small town race at it's finest!" (about: 2011)

This was a beautiful race that had a scenic focus throughout. Back and forth course, so spectators have the opportunity to see runners frequently and it makes for easy race support for the participants. Beautiful and well-organized for a small race!
