What an awesome event. I cannot wait to run it again! Very well organized, great swag for all finishers, a free lunch after, and great finisher medals. I think it's worth every dollar. I cannot believe I ever spent the same amount for a crappy RocknRoll event.

For an inaugural race this was first rate. Plenty of aid stations, well marked course, generous time cutoff and those who finished after the cutoff still have times recorded.

Not many spectators except the aid station volunteers, but that's expected on a trail course.

The only criticisms I have are that this was not well publicized: 37 people isn't many in an area that is full of trail runners, I came upon the race listing by accident a week before the race, and that it was not cheap, $100 is a lot of money for a trail race, even if the aid stations are well stocked. Given the price, I'd have liked to see the aid stations supplied with ice both for runners to consume and for first aid purposes. I'd also have liked to see a porta pottie at the Lake Hughes Road crossing, which is of course truck accessible. Other than that, it was a fantastic race.
