"Great August Marathon" (about: 2024)
3 previous marathons
| 1 The ENDURrun Marathon
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 1 One of the cheapest Marathons around. Expect 60-100 runners. 5 loops. Course runs along the Grand River. Its dead flat except for 2 small but steep hills. All paved. August is humid in Ontario. 5:30 or 6:00 am start for runners expecting to run 4:30+. 7am start for the rest. Event has extra energy than others as this is the last stage and 50 or so runners will be finishing their 100 Mile week.

"New course" (about: 2022)
50+ previous marathons
| 2 The ENDURrun Marathons
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 2 I ran it when it was the 2 laps of country roads. Hot humid and lonely. New this year 5 laps which favours the exhausted EndurRunners of the week. (I think.) Shared path with walkers and cyclists. A few golf carts as it cuts through a golf course. Some tree coverage. All paved. Aid stations were well positioned. Hoping city allows them to keep this course.

"Hot and humid race" (about: 2016)

| 1 The ENDURrun Marathon
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 2 This is an 8-day event with the marathon being the final stage with less than 100 runners. The course consists of two loops through rolling hills in rural Ontario and streets of Kitchener. The weather was not very friendly: low 20s C at start and high 20s C and high humidity four hours later. There were no spectators except for the start/finish area. The event was organised expertly with exceptional contribution from volunteers. Aid stations were supplied with water, sport drinks and much, much more. Post event party was just like a feast in a 5-star hotel. Thanks for a great run.

"Great rural course with a couple of hills" (about: 2015)
11-50 previous marathons
| 1 The ENDURrun Marathon
COURSE: 4 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 3 This is a two-loop course with some challenging hills, so it may be pretty hard to get your PB there. It is one of the smallest courses I participated in. The post-race treatment was next to royal. You get a massage plus the food with some 20+ items on the menu-)). Never seen so much variety post-race. My only complaint is that I wished they had an extra water station towards the end of the race. This was a pretty hot day and the finish was tough. They had a guy on a bike in the beginning offering water and I really wished he'd show up at the 40k-ish mark.

"Good Prototype for a Community Race" (about: 2014)
11-50 previous marathons
| 2 The ENDURrun Marathons
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 4 Race directors Lloyd and Jordan (and family and volunteers) make this a must-do. This is the community event where you are treated as an elite. Great atmosphere, event and post-race spread. Even a custom T-shirt with your finishing time if you participate in the weeklong series of events culminating in the marathon. |
