I have ran first time marathons before and expected some glitches but this was very well organized from communication, expo and packet pick up to race day execution. Plenty of aid stations and Clif Bars and Shot blocks were plentiful. So you all did a great job and should feel pleased about how everything came together. I was interested in this race for a number of reasons but also because it benefited the Navy Seals. I would recommend you promote that more if you can.

(about: 2016) 50+ previous marathons \| 1 Destin Marathon COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 Course was simple...out and back, x2 for the marathoners. Most of it completely closed to traffic and local law enforcement provided great traffic control for the areas that weren't closed. Beautiful bay on one side and beautiful beach and gulf on the other. Very easy for my husband to support me on the course. Race was very well organized from web page to registration to communication to packet pick up to, well, the entire race event! Loved the food and beer at the finish and the medal is AWESOME! Not sure why there weren't more spectators on the course. It was a beautiful day for them to be out there supporting the race and runners! This race was actually my personal worse nightmare...flat, warm, no shade and out/back x2. I knew all of this when I signed up, so I went in with a 'git 'er done' attitude. Despite that I loved the race and had a good time and a good time! My one suggestion is to please have sports drink at every aid station. Congratulations to the organizers, sponsors and volunteers for a great event! I'll definitely be back!
