Imagine running your 145th marathon and enjoying soo many firsts...we always say its about how we compete against ourselves and I always say its about the story. Get this - Race Director Daniel stopped what he was doing on Monday afternoon to help me pick up early, and then imagine at 5am on race day when he presents you with a Birthday cake and a sing along with my fellow 100 runners and so before the start of the race, my Birthday marathon is complete.. Add to that how everyone has their name on the bib so it makes it easy to encourage each other on this shady 12 look course and then, again having run 144 races elsewhere - this one has THE best Aid Station ever. Thank you Daniel for making this a special race and rest assured, I will be looking for you on my Birthday in '19.

This is course that travels back and forth for the marathon 12x for the half 6 and then there is the 50k - I think it was 14x. There is ample parking and the organizers are uber excited. There was some nice hot soup at the beginning and I guess while it lasted. There is an array of food and drink to replenish yourself before, during and after the event. The organizers do remain until the last person finishes. There were quite a few spectators possibly supporters of participants but there were quite a few there. The accommodations in the area are expensive. I am not a fan of the repeats but if there is enough company to reduce some of the ennui. The medal is nice. The shirt is not a tech-tee but it is pretty.
